Wow, something totally brilliant has happened! The platypus outcome created by Scribbls community member Alex #32 has reached 100 heart’s! This is the first outcome to ever reach 100.

Please everybody, help me congratulate Alex on this very special achievement, and join me in celebrating this milestone event of our community.

Alex has been a member since January 2008, and sports an impressive ratio of almost 7 heart’s on average for each outcome she submits. You should definitely check out more of the great things she has drawn.

Turns out Thursday was both Zombie Turkey Day and the first birthday of Watermelon Sauce, LLC (which is of course the creator of Scribbls). A belated happy Thanksgiving to you and first birfday to us!

We're really excited about how many people decided to participate in our October Orange Contest. As we said, the Scribbls community members (excluding me and Zach) with the top five most hearted outcomes using orange at the end of October would get to keep the color orange to draw with forever! Here are the final heart standings at the end of the month:

• 1st - Fraggle #28's Obsessive Compulsive Entry with 16 hearts.
• 2nd - jmay #559 with his sasquash receiving 13 hearts
• 2nd - Alex #32's Enormous carrot also got 13 hearts
• 2nd - jmullan #10 had a Freudian slip with his Jack Off Fairy—part of a three-way tie at 13 hearts, too
• 3rd - heather who #273's jackOfairy had 11 hearts
• 3rd - supernathan #714 also had his rendition of Devo get 11 hearts.

I know we said top five, but there were ties, and we're feeling generous. Congratulations to our six winners. And hey, if you didn't make the cut, better luck next October!

I thought it would be fun to rummage through our outcomes and find some good Halloween themed fun. So far I've found:

• Plenty of Pumpkins
• A witch
• Ghosts
• Franken-monsters

Hrm... I must be missing something—maybe that's because you haven't drawn it yet.

And don't forget that our October Orange Contest ends at midnight (Central)!

I just thought I would check in on our contest. We added a page showing the current contest standings. There's just ten days left so draw something!

For those of you who might not know, we're running a contest until the end of October where everybody gets to draw with the color orange. The Scribbls community members with the top five most hearted outcomes at the end of the month get to keep orange to draw with forever.

Pretty sweet deal, right? I've got a couple of other things to add:

First, the contest really does end when the clock rolls over to November 1. Submit any of your orange drawings before midnight or your pumpkin will turn back into a carriage or however that works.

Second, everybody loses orange come November 1, and then we will bestow orange back upon our winners whenever we wake up from our Halloween hangovers. We'd try to make it automatic but there's probably going to be ties, in which case we'll have to decide what we want to do. I will say that neither Paul nor I are in the running to win.
